I. Introduction

To prepare for “October 1st Hong Kong Day of Prayer” and prayer in unity, you are cordially invited to join 40 days of fasting and prayer (22/8-30/9/2021). You may choose your own way of fasting (e.g. vegetarian diet, liquid diet, fasting for 1 or 2 meals) and regularly set aside some time to pray extensively in a quiet place according to weekly prayers. Through the 40 days of fasting and prayer, let us enter an amazing prayer journey to understand God’s will and work with God! Participants of prayer parades, high place prayer, family altar, small prayer group and synchronized prayer at church on 1 October may use Prayers of October 1.

Besides praying at home or workplace, you may join SHOP membership and enjoy the exclusive privilege of praying in the individual prayer rooms at the 12 Gates, 16/F, Hub 8.

Prayers for 40 Days of Fasting — Prayers of the 1st Week (22-28/8)
A. Proclamation — “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” (Psalm 145:3-4)
Prayers for 40 Days of Fasting — Prayers of the 2nd Week (29/8-4/9)
A. Proclamation — “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name.” (Psalm 9:1-2)
Prayers for 40 Days of Fasting — Prayers of the 3rd Week (5-11/9)
A. Proclamation — “Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great…… May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works…… I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.” (Psalm 104:1, 31, 33-34)

A. Proclamation — “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
