PRAYERS OF 40-DAY FASTING — GUIDELINE (22/8-30/9/2023)
I. Introduction

To prepare for “October 1st Hong Kong Day of Prayer” and prayer in unity, you are cordially invited to join 40 days of fasting and prayer (22/8-30/9/2023). You may choose your own way of fasting (e.g. vegetarian diet, liquid diet, fasting for 1 or 2 meals) and regularly set aside some time to pray extensively in a quiet place according to weekly prayers. Through the 40 days of fasting and prayer, let us enter an amazing prayer journey to understand God’s will and work with God! Participants of prayer parades, high place prayer, family altar, small prayer group and synchronized prayer at church on 1 October may use Prayers of October 1.

Besides praying at home or workplace, you may join SHOP membership and enjoy the exclusive privilege of praying in the individual prayer rooms at the 12 Gates, 16/F, Hub 8.

🙏Pray that God helps the Government make the wise choice and grants them the organizational capabilities. There were landslides, potholes and fallen trees during the black rainstorm, pray that further landslides can be prevented when urgent slope repairs work have been carried out. Pray that the operational and working efficiency of the related departments can be enhanced to mitigate the loss brought by the rainstorm.
🙏Pray that God grants peace to firemen, police officers, healthcare workers, those who need to be on duty and the people working in the service sectors, and that they can hold fast to their positions and maintain the order and stability of the society when there is torrential rain and typhoon.
✝️“Because he[a] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)

May God help family members fulfill their roles and that spouses can get along with one another harmoniously.
May the Lord substitute those family members who are absent and make the broken families complete.
May the Lord help parents love and teach their children unconditionally, nurture the characters of their children and teach them to develop proper values, so that they can grow.

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southern Morocco in North Africa, reportedly the worst in a century.
8/9 Foreign media reported that the earthquake occurred at about 11 pm on Friday, and the epicenter was located about 71 kilometers southwest of the southern city -Marrakech, near the Atlas Mountains. As rescuers continue to arrive in remote mountainous areas, the number of casualties is expected to continue to rise.
At least 1,037 people have been killed and 1,204 injured so far, 731 of them seriously. Most of the casualties occurred in Marrakech and five provinces near the epicenter.
The ancient city of Marrakech, known as the "Red City of North Africa", was listed as a World Heritage Site, and the largest mosque in the city, Koutoubia, was damaged in the earthquake.
Neighbouring Algeria and Portugal also felt the tremor.

Our Lord, please have mercy on and heal the Moroccans who have been affected by the earthquake, protect and comfort them.

Pray for Israel
Kingdom Prayer Network 5/9/2023
Pray for a National Consensus on Judicial Reform Issues.
Pray for both sides who have a fierce debate over judicial reform in Israel, pray that God helps them reach a national consensus, resolve the dispute and end the mass protests quickly, and pray that God brings unity and healing among the people of Israel.
Pray that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will remain vigilant against all threats and that every reservist will return to service and receive training in the IDF. Pray that Israel's enemies will not be mistaken into thinking that Israel is a weak nation due to internal divisions caused by judicial reform, and may God stop them from continuing to threaten Israel.
