Date: 22 Aug 2026 (Saturday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 136 23 He remembered us in our low estate. His love endures forever. 24 and freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever. 25 He gives food to every creature. His love endures forever. 26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever. 📍Message: Psalm 136:23–26 highlights that God remembers humanity in hard times, frees us from enemies, provides food for all living things, and deserves eternal thanks because His steadfast love never ends. · Divine Remembrance (Verse 23): God notices people when they feel weak, helpless, or forgotten ("in our low estate"), proving that He never ignores human suffering. · Rescue and Deliverance (Verse 24): He actively steps in to save His people from their foes and whatever struggles wear them down. 📗Scripture 2: Matthew 10 40 “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” 📍Message: Matthew 10:40-42 teaches that how people treat Jesus’s messengers reflects how they treat Jesus and God the Father. Jesus promises that ordinary acts of kindness—like giving a cup of water to a disciple—are seen by God and will be rewarded. Accepting a disciple means accepting Jesus, and accepting Jesus means accepting God. Those who support God's messengers share in the spiritual reward of the work. Even minor, simple deeds like offering cold water carry great value in God's eyes. B. Watch Time Focus: The Middle East countries—pray for the people of Iran in this war situation 1. Protection of Civilians: Pray for the safety of families, children, and pregnant women caught in areas facing strikes, explosions, and severe stress. 2. Safety for Vulnerable Groups: Lift up prisoners and detainees in facilities like Evin Prison, asking for physical and emotional protection amid worsening conditions. 3. Support for Believers: Pray for courage, wisdom, and protection for underground house churches and Christian minorities facing increased surveillance and pressure. 4. Relief and Stability: Pray for provision against steep economic hardships, and for restored communication channels and internet access inside the country. 5. Date: 25 Aug 2026 (Tuesday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 139:1–6 1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. 5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! 📍 Message God has already examined and truly known us. His knowledge is not superficial but deep, like a miner carefully inspecting precious stones. Every detail of our lives is under His gaze. Therefore, we need no disguise before Him, for He sees our truest self. Even before our thoughts are fully formed or words spoken, He knows them all. He understands the motives, desires, hidden thoughts, and unspoken emotions behind our actions. When we, like the psalmist, realize that God fully knows and yet fully accepts us, our hearts overflow with awe and praise for His greatness. 📗 Scripture 2: Matthew 13:24–30 24 Here is another story Jesus told: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. 25 But that night as the workers slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away. 26 When the crop began to grow and produce grain, the weeds also grew. 27 The farmer’s workers went to him and said, ‘Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from?’ 28 ‘An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed. ‘Should we pull out the weeds?’ they asked. 29 ‘No,’ he replied, ‘you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles, and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn.’” 📍 Message In today’s world and in the church, wheat represents true believers, while weeds represent false or rebellious lives sown by the enemy. They often grow side by side, which can confuse us. Why do imperfection and evil coexist with righteousness? Jesus reminds us that judgment belongs to God, not to our impatience. Out of mercy, God allows both to grow together, protecting the weak wheat from being harmed by premature or human judgment. Therefore, we must learn to wait in the midst of darkness and confusion, focusing on bearing spiritual fruit and entrusting ultimate justice to the Lord of the harvest. Prayer: Lord, grant me a quiet and humble heart. In a noisy world, fix my eyes on You, so that I may silently take root and bear spiritual fruit. Amen. B. Watch Hour Focus: Hong Kong 1. Pray that God will lead Hong Kong churches and ministries to lay down self-interest, walk in humility and unity, and become one body striving together for revival. 2. Pray that God will open the eyes of different denominations to understand His heart for the October 1 National Day of Prayer, joining together to intercede for Hong Kong and China. 3. Pray that God will heal broken relationships and divisions, pouring His love and acceptance into human connections. 4. Date: 23 Aug 2026 (Sunday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 137 4 How can we sing the Lord's songs in foreign lands? 5 If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill. 6 If I do not remember you, and do not regard Jerusalem as my greatest joy, may my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth. 📍Message: After being taken captive to a foreign land, the psalmist refused to let the holiness and solemn praise of singing to God become a plaything for the foreigners. He expressed his longing for his homeland, Jerusalem. "Skill" refers to a skill every Israelite must learn, representing technical expertise required in their work. "Tongue pressed to the palate" means the tongue is stuck to the roof of the mouth, stiff and unable to sing. The psalmist strongly stated that he would rather play the harp without "skill" than forget his homeland, Jerusalem. This reminds us to learn from the psalmist's love for Jerusalem, never forsaking God or changing our attitude towards worship, no matter what circumstances we face. We should have reverence for Him, for He is most worthy of our praise and accolades. 📗Scripture 2: Matthew 11 28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. 📍Message: The rest promised by Jesus refers to the peace of mind one can find in Jesus. A yoke is a heavy wooden harness placed around the neck of an ox, connected to the tool the ox pulls. Jesus invites us to bear His yoke, signifying our willingness to learn from His example and become gentle and humble Christians. When we bear burdens and face difficulties, let us humbly rely on God like children, as Jesus relied on the Father, and then we can lightly do the Lord's work. Prayer: Lord, help us to be gentle and humble in heart like Jesus, to know how to rely on the Father, and to face the pressures and burdens of work, family, and finances with a spiritual and correct attitude. Pray for the watch time for church pastors and brothers and sisters. 3. Date: 26 Aug 2026 (Wednesday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 140:6–13 6 O Lord, you are my God! Listen to my cry for mercy! 7 O Sovereign Lord, my strong rescuer, you protected me on the day of battle. 8 Lord, do not let evil people have their way. Do not let their evil schemes succeed, or they will become proud. 9 Let my enemies be destroyed by the very evil they plan for me. 10 Let burning coals fall down on them. Let them be thrown into the fire or into deep pits from which they can’t escape. 11 Don’t let liars prosper here in our land. Cause great disasters to fall on the violent. 12 But I know the Lord will help those they persecute; he will give justice to the poor. 13 Surely righteous people are praising your name; the godly will live in your presence. 📍 Message David cries out to God in distress, trusting that the Lord hears and will deal with the wicked. This reminds us that when facing injustice or attack, we need not seek revenge ourselves. Instead, we pray and trust God, who defends the oppressed and ensures the righteous dwell in His presence. Today, are we willing to hand over our grievances to the righteous Judge and still give thanks while we wait? Prayer: Lord, help us replace revenge with faith, anxiety with prayer, and rest in Your justice and grace. 📗 Scripture 2: Matthew 14:22–33 22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake while he sent the people home. 23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. 24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” 28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” 32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed. 📍 Message We often fix our eyes on circumstances and forget the One who calls us. Faith is not the absence of fear, but turning to Jesus even in fear. His hand always reaches out when we begin to sink, lifting us in our weakness. Prayer: Lord, help us not to measure the storm, but to trust Your presence with us. B. Watch Hour Focus: Israel 1. Pray for Israel’s October elections, asking God to raise up His chosen leaders and guide the new parliament through this critical political transition. 2. Date: 24 Aug 2026 (Monday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 138:5–8 5 Yes, they will sing about the Lord’s ways, for the glory of the Lord is very great. 6 Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. 7 Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. 8 The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. 📍Message The psalmist experienced the ups and downs of life and the attacks of enemies, yet recognized that God’s nature never changes. Though supreme, God cares for the humble. Even when passing through deep troubles, He preserves, revives, and personally fulfills all that concerns His children. His word is greater than any circumstance, and His lovingkindness endures forever. No matter what pressure, hardship, waiting period, or life transition we face, we need not fear turbulent times or lose heart over present difficulties. Our value, ministry, and life path are in God's hands; He will fulfill the destiny and work of everyone who belongs to Him. Prayer: Lord, give us pure hearts to praise You continuously and bow in humility before You. Help us look beyond our circumstances and feelings, putting our complete trust in Your unchanging faithfulness and enduring love. Amen! 📗Scripture Focus 2: Matthew 12:33–35 33 A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. 34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. 📍Message Jesus used the analogy of a tree and its fruit to show that a person's words are inextricably linked to the state of their heart. A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees because their evil hearts produced wicked words, emphasizing that the good or evil stored in the heart determines what comes out of the mouth. Let us examine our own speech for criticism, judgment, harshness, or curses, and inspect where root issues lie so we can actively pray for God to purify our hearts. Prayer: Lord, purify my inner heart and cleanse my speech. May I harbor no evil, but only bring forth words of blessing. Amen! B. Watch Hour Focus : China 1. Protection for Churches: Watch over and protect the churches in China. Strengthen the faith of every believer to hold fast to pure doctrine and a reverent heart in this changing era. 2. Raising Up Faithful Servants: May the Lord raise up more praying believers and faithful servants to be salt and light, glorifying His name through lives of humility, gentleness, and witness. 3. Healing and Revival: May the Lord heal the wounds of the land, restore the broken, strengthen the weak, and bring spiritual revival and transformation, saturating the land with His glory, righteousness, and peace. 4. October 1st National Day of Prayer: May the Lord use this year’s October 1st National Day of Prayer as a blessing for China, mobilizing more churches to intercede and bring about immense spiritual transformation across the nation. Date: 27 Aug 2026 (Thursday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 141:1–5, 8–10 1 O Lord, I am calling to you. Please hurry! Listen when I cry to you for help! 2 Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering. 3 Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips. 4 Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong. 5 Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it. But my prayer is against the deeds of evildoers. 8 I look to you for help, O Sovereign Lord. You are my refuge; don’t let them kill me. 9 Keep me from the traps they have set for me, from the snares of those who do wrong. 10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, but let me escape. 📍Message David, in distress, does not seek revenge but offers prayer like the evening sacrifice. In the temple, incense and evening offerings were daily rituals; David, in his lonely and fearful twilight, clings to God through disciplined prayer. He asks God to guard his mouth and heart, lest anger lead him to sin or align with evildoers. He humbly accepts correction from the righteous, continues to pray even when others do evil, and fixes his eyes on the Lord for deliverance. Prayer: Lord, help us replace retaliation with prayer, and temptation with trust, keeping our eyes fixed on You. 📗 Scripture 2: Matthew 15:22–28 22 A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” 23 But Jesus gave her no reply—not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.” 24 Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.” 25 But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!” 26 Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their master’s table.” 28 “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “Your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed. 📍Message The Canaanite woman cries out for her daughter’s deliverance. Though Jesus initially refuses, she persists with humility and faith. Her wise and steadfast reply moves Jesus, who praises her great faith and heals her daughter immediately. Prayer: Lord, help me to believe in Your healing and seek You persistently. Amen. B. Watch Hour Focus: Thailand 1. Pray for the *Asia-Pacific mission trend*, as young pastors foresee the region becoming the largest missionary-sending hub by 2030, leading revival and mission. 2. Pray for *Chinese ministries partnering with Empower 21*, planning to evangelize across all 77 provinces of Thailand with “Gospel Trucks” in 2025–2026, aiming to raise Christian population beyond 1%. May God ensure the plan’s success. 3. Pray for the *Chiang Mai Family Life Growth Camp 2026*, organized by North American Chinese churches and Pastor Liu Xiaoting’s team. This new model emphasizes deep life companionship, art, and play therapy, blending tourism with mission. Ask the Lord to use these innovative approaches to bring many to Christ. Date: 28 Aug 2026 (Friday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 142:5–7 5 Then I pray to you, O Lord. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.” 6 Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. 7 Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me. 📍Message David, hiding in a cave, realized that no earthly power could save him—only the God he had known since youth. In his weakness, he confessed his helplessness and leaned solely on the Lord. Sometimes God allows us to face deep trials so that we learn to depend on Him alone. True intimacy with God comes when we stop pretending to be strong and acknowledge our need for His strength. 📗 Scripture 2: Matthew 16:16–19 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. 18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” 📍Message This passage reminds us that the strength of believers lies not in themselves but in God’s revelation and authority. Peter’s confession came through the Father’s guidance, not human wisdom. Jesus promised that His church would stand firm on this rock, unshaken by darkness. Today, we too must rely on the Spirit’s daily guidance and exercise the authority God has entrusted to us, finding strength in weakness and stability in challenges. B. Watch Hour Focus: Cambodia 1. Pray for the House of Prayer for All Nations God would unite Cambodian churches and believers to build a house of prayer where Christ reigns. 2. Pray for breaking the cycle of poverty asking God to grant wisdom to the government to establish stable economic policies, improve infrastructure, and create jobs in rural areas to reduce inequality. 3. Pray for combating human trafficking Cambodia has become a hotspot for scams and trafficking. Scripture Reading Focus 📗Scripture 1: Psalm 145 1 I will exalt you, my God and my King; I will bless your name forever and ever. 2 I will bless you daily; I will praise your name forever and ever. 3 The Lord is great and worthy of great praise; his greatness cannot be fathomed. 8 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love. 9 The Lord is good to all nations; his mercy rests on all that he has made. 📍Message Psalm 145 is a heartfelt hymn of praise from David to God, expressing His greatness, grace, and mercy, and His kindness to every one of His creation. Whether we are in good times or bad, God's nature remains unchanged. We often see the difficulties of our circumstances and human limitations, but God is forever in control. We can come before God daily, responding to Him with praise; even in trials, we must remember that He is full of grace and mercy. Our hearts should not merely seek to receive grace, but also yearn to see God's will, draw near to His heart, learn to set aside our own perspective, and rely on this loving God with praise and humility. 📗Scripture Two: Matthew 19 23 Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.” 24 “And I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly amazed. “In this case, who can be saved?” they asked. 26 “But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” 📍Message Matthew chapter 19 records Jesus' teachings on the path to the kingdom of heaven and his self-sacrifice. The young rich man, possessing perfect character and abundant wealth, came seeking eternal life, but because he couldn't let go of his worldly riches, he ultimately left in sorrow. Jesus used this to remind people that salvation cannot be bought with one's own conditions, efforts, possessions, or status. In human eyes, these conditions may seem sufficient; but in God's standard, they are idols, attachments, and self-reliance, all of which will prevent one from drawing near to God. The wealthy may find it difficult to be saved, but in God's grace, everything is possible. May we all be transformed in God's grace, despise the world, and receive complete salvation. Amen! B. Watch Hour Focus: China Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace, wholeheartedly watching over this land of China. Lord, have mercy on all the people of China, have mercy on the millions of families within our borders. Faced with the greed, bondage, helplessness, and limitations of the human heart, and the circumstances beyond human change, we ask that You Yourself act. Lord, soften the hearts of our people, remove their attachment to material possessions and fame, and let more people know Your salvation, set aside worldly idols, and turn solely to You. Preserve the churches throughout the country, ensuring their steadfast standing, faithfully witnessing throughout the ages, and proclaiming the gospel of Your self-sacrifice, grace, and power. Date: 29 Aug 2026 (Saturday) A. Scripture Reading Focus 📗 Scripture 1: Psalm 143 1 Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. 2 Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. 3 My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. 4 I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. 5 I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. 📍 Message Psalm 143 is David’s cry when pursued by enemies, overwhelmed and near collapse. He admits his weakness, asking God to hear him not because of his innocence but because of God’s faithfulness. We too face seasons of despair and persecution. This psalm reminds us that God listens to our prayers because He is faithful. In times of crisis, we are called to trust His mercy, seek His comfort, and allow His Spirit to renew our strength. Prayer: Lord, in my weakness, I trust Your faithfulness. Hear my cry and renew my spirit. 📗 Scripture 2: Matthew 17 14 At the foot of the mountain, a large crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son. He has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.” 17 Jesus said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” 18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well. 📍 Message Jesus healed the boy immediately, but He also expressed His disappointment at the lack of faith. This passage reminds us that prayer must be rooted in faith. Without faith, our words are empty; with faith, our prayers reach God’s throne. As disciples, we must examine our hearts, asking God to strengthen our faith so that our prayers carry power and expectation. Prayer: Lord, increase my faith. Help me believe in Your healing and transforming power. Amen. B. Watch Hour Focus: Christians in Iran 1. Protection and safety: Pray for believers’ security, especially secret house church members and converts from Islam. 2. Imprisoned Christians: Pray for grace, protection, and eventual release for those suffering in detention and prisons. 3. Scripture Reading Focus 📗Scripture 1: Psalm 146 3 Do not put your trust in kings or in humankind; they can help you nothing. 4 When their breath is gone, they return to dust; on the very day their plans are destroyed. 5 Blessed is the one who takes refuge in the God of Jacob, who puts their hope in the Lord his God. 6 The Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them; he keeps faithfulness forever. 📍Message We should not place our hope in earthly rulers or any worldly power, for humans are finite and cannot provide true help. When a person's life ends, all their plans vanish instantly. Conversely, those who wholeheartedly trust in the Lord are blessed, for His faithfulness endures forever, unchanging; those who rely on God will receive unwavering help. 📗Scripture 2: Matthew 20 13 The owner of the house answered one of them, “Friend, I have not wronged you. Did not you agree with me to pay a denarius? 14 Take yours and go. I will give the same to the one who comes after me as I give to you; this is my will. 15 Can’t I use my own things as I please? Are you jealous because I am a good man?” 16 So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” 📍Message God points out that He has not wronged any brothers or sisters. His provision is due to grace and mercy, and He has absolute sovereignty over the distribution of His gifts. This refers not only to the physical house, but also to the building up of our lives, families, and churches; without the foundation of truth from God, we cannot bear spiritual abundance. Next, the passage emphasizes the power that wisdom brings. Those who are both wise and courageous possess great power because of their wisdom, and in battle, having many advisors brings victory. Therefore, when we enter into spiritual warfare or life-changing decisions, we should not act solely based on personal pride or impulsiveness, but humbly seek the guidance of spiritual companions and elders. Conversely, the passage also sternly warns us not to fall into the snare of folly and blasphemy. Wisdom is too profound for fools, leaving them speechless before others. Fools who blaspheme God or others in their words and deeds are even more detested by the masses. Jesus, in his weakest and hungriest moments, demonstrated absolute trust in God's word and thus triumphed. Afterward, the devil "temporarily left," showing that spiritual warfare is continuous; the enemy is always looking for the next weakness, and we must not be complacent after victory. However, after his victory in the wilderness, Jesus did not wither away but instead entered the next stage of ministry "full of the power of the Holy Spirit."
